Who are Friends of the Sharon Public Library?
The Friends are volunteers from the town who work to raise funds for the Sharon Public Library with programs such as the Adopt-a-Book Campaign and an Annual Book Sale. Funds raised are used for many varied purposes, from educational and entertaining programming to practical necessities for the library building. Read our mission.

What are the Member benefits?
Newsletters, Board Meetings and Sneak Previews
Members receive quarterly newsletters reporting on Friends activities and discounts on Friends-sponsored field trips. Members have always been invited to the organization’s annual meetings; beginning in 2006, members are now also invited to open meetings during the year. And, members are allowed to shop at a sneak preview of the Annual Book Sale—a day earlier than the general public.
Cultural Field Trips
In October 2005 we initiated a literary/cultural field trip program. Our first trip was a tour of the Boston Public Library. Subsequent trips and tours have been to the RISD Museum, Concord and Orchard Houses, Harvard University campus, the Ames Mansion Library at Borderland, and the Mary Baker Eddy Library. Field trips and group events continue to be a part of the Friends ongoing plans for the organization; they are not fund-raisers, but a member benefit program. We hope that their popularity will encourage enthusiasm and increased support for the library and its programs. Future field trips and other activities are planned each quarter, and are announced in the Friends newsletters and other advertising and promotional venues.
